Murrayfield Stadium has been the home of Scotland's National Rugby team since nineteen twenty five. Since then constant redevelopment has increased both the quality and capacity of the stadium. Currently the stadium can hold sixty seven thousand seated fans. MAP

The highlight of the year is the annual Five Nations competition which pits the national teams of Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and England against each other. This takes place during the months of February to April with each each nation playing the others once, this guarantees two home games for each set of fans. The 1999 champions are Scotland.

Also playing out of the Murrayfield Stadium are the Scottish Claymores. They are a much newer addition to the history of the ground only becoming a permanent fixture in 1995. The Claymores play in the European National Football League (ENFL) which was set up to encourage the growth of American Football within Europe. Many of the stars cut their teeth in Europe before moving on to the American NFL. This gives the crowd a great chance to see tomorrow's stars of American Grid Iron close up.

The ENFL season lasts from April through until June with all of the teams playing each other both home and away. This guarantees at least five home matches for the fans, and the possibility of a sixth World Bowl Match if the league is topped at the end of the season. This was the case in 1996 for the Claymores when they captured the title.
